Tapestry Wall Hangings These weavings are created on a Mirrix 16 inch tabletop tapestry loom, which is capable of weaving both fibers and beads. They are woven with silk, wool, linen, cotton and any other interesting fibers that I can find. In the future, I plan to add bamboo, soy and hemp. Many are embellished with semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, fine glass beads, shells, buffalo bone, mother-of-pearl and many other beautiful and fun objects. Each piece is then named in a way that reflects the spirit of the work as it speaks to me. Tapestry Shoulder Bags As with my other tapestry work, these shoulder bags are woven with silk, mohair, wool, linen, cotton and any other fine and interesting fibers I can find. They are absolutely unique & wearable art. Each bag is fully lined and some have pockets sewn to the lining. Sides and stress points are carefully reinforced to provide many years of joyful companionship! All the finishing sewing work is done by hand. Button closures and adornments are selected from my collection of antique and fine contemporary buttons. The shoulder straps are tightly hand braided from the same fibers used to weave the body of the bag.
